Zinka grey is a beautiful hand made boater, a very unique and popular style of fashion bloggers. It is featured here in a wonderful charcoal grey colour with an interchangeable light grey suede band and gold Monty buckle. This piece is made with the finest wool felt and is adorned with an interchangeable light grey coloured suede band and gold Monty buckle for a more refined and minimalist look. The interchangeable trim threads through the buckle and wraps delicately around the crown on the right hand side. Play around with the interchangeable suede bands in different colours to compliment any outfit. This piece is designed to perch on the back of the head and is secured by a comb at the front for added comfort. These stylish turbans are available in a range of silks and linens. The collection consists of three varying styles made in sizes: Small (56cm), Medium (58cm) and Large (60cm), unless they are stated to be Limited Edition pieces. The turbans are perfect for all seasons and occasions and are small enough to slip into your pocket when on the go!
Berets and 'Baker-boy' Hats
Inspired by Iona's time living in Paris, this stylish range of berets and 'baker-boy' hats are made using various navy and black surplus fabrics. The all have cotton linings and are perfect for all seasons. Current styles are available in size Small (56cm), however, each can be made-to-order in sizes; Medium (58cm) and Large (60cm). Either style can also be made bespoke in any colour of fabric for an additional fee. Designed and handmade in London.
About Iona
Iona started millinery at a young age, attending short courses at London College of Fashion and gaining invaluable experience with society milliner Gina Foster whilst still at school. Despite her fascination in millinery, she went onto university to study French. While on her year abroad, Iona did a 10 month hat making internship at Maison Michel in Paris which not only increased her desire to continue millinery but also had a great impact on her style as a designer. After university, Iona worked for renowned milliner Philip Treacy before completing the prestigious HNC Millinery course at Kensington and Chelsea College. In 2013, Iona set up her own business and began working part time for Stephen Jones in his Model Millinery department, creating amazing pieces for designers and catwalk shows.
Iona now works full time running her own business and is a tutor on the same HNC millinery course at Kensington and Chelsea College, now Morley College.
These experiences have helped develop Iona’s classic yet quirky style which reflects both luxe and dark romanticism. Her hats and headdresses juxtapose traditional millinery techniques and innovative design. In each design, Iona adapts and transforms classic shapes and styles in order to create an organic sense of movement. It is this experimentation and sampling within each collection that allows Iona’s work to have not only a high quality finish, but also a unique aesthetic. ‘Sculptural femininity, Parisian sophistication’ is at the heart of Iona’s designs, representing ethereal luxury and delicate drama for the lady who wants to stand head and shoulders above the rest. All Iona’s hats and fascinators are hand-made by her and her current ready-to-wear collections are available to order.
